Hans Barella

Hans Barella

Hans Barella, President of the Supervisory Board of SuperSonic Imagine was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Philips Medical Systems and member of the Group Management Committee of Royal Philips Electronics.

Hans Barella has, for the past 30 years, occupied several key positions at Philips Medical Systems, including commercial, marketing and technical roles. He became member of the top management team in 1985 and was appointed President and CEO of Philips Medical Systems in 1997. During this time, he initiated an ambitious acquisition program and assembled five major companies into one organization dedicated to diagnostics, treatment and patient monitoring.


Additionally, from 1992 to 1996, was Chairman of COCIR: European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry.

Hans Barella has been a member of the Board of Directors of Elekta AB, Sweden since 2003.

Mr. Barella has an Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and an Electronic Engineering degree.

 
Philippe Boucheron

Philippe Boucheron

Philippe Boucheron holds an engineering degree in Biochemical Engineering and Microbial genetics from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées in Toulouse, an MSc in Biochemical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal and a MBA from INSEAD.

Between 1993 and 1996, Philippe Boucheron worked at BioCapital LP, one of the largest Canadian venture capital funds focusing on biotechnology.

Between 1997 and 2000, he directed the mid-caps equity research team at ING Barings Ferri, Paris spending a significant part of his time following French and European biotech companies.

In 2000, he co-founded Bioam and became investment Manager, then Managing Partner in 2004. He is on the board of Aureus Pharma, Libragen, Ademtech, Integragen, Cryolog, SSI and TxCell.

 
Aris Constantinides

Aris Constantinides

Aris Constantinides is a co-founder of NBGI Ventures which manages a   capital fund of EUR 60M. NBGI is dedicated to investing in start-up  companies within the medical sector across Europe.

Aris works primarily with companies developing innovative medical equipement, diagnostics and new technology for the healthcare sector.

He has been an active venture capitalist and private equity investor in Europe for more than 9 years. He has also taken an active role in managing investment funds with Deutsche Bank’s and Credit Suisse First Boston.

He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College , London. An MS in Mechanical Engineering from Massachussettes Institute of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD.

 
Tom Francke

Tom Francke

Tom Francke is a co-founder and Chief Executive of XCounter AB, a company which develops 3D digital tomosynthesis technology  enabling medical imaging at low levels of radiation and high image quality.

In 1986, Dr.Francke  received a Masters of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden,

Between 1987 and 1991, Dr. Francke worked on his PhD in particle physics at CERN. He was named Associate professor in 1996.

 

Between 1991 and 2000, Dr. Francke was a senior scientist in astroparticle physics he was key in developing radiation instruments for space research mainly for  NASA.

Dr. Franke has also collaborated with  CERN in Switzerland, the CNRS in France, KHT in Sweden, as well as, the University of New Mexico in the United States.

He studied French at Geneva University, and  completed his MBA at the Stockholm School of Economics.

Dr. Francke is on the board of directors of XCounter AB and of Supersonicimagine.

Between 2000 and 2002 Dr. Francke was on the Board of Directors for  LightLab AB, a Swedish company working with mercury free low energy lighting.

Tom Francke holds more than 40 patents and is the author of hundreds of  scientific publications. He was also editor  of the scientific newspaper “Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research” which specializes in radiation implementations.

 
Olivier Litzka

Olivier Litzka

Olivier Litzka joined the Life Science team of EDRIP in 2006. 

Olivier Litzka worked as a consultant for several years with Mercer Management consulting in Munich and Paris.He then worked for six years as an investor  with 3i in the venture Healthcare branch.
Olivier holds a PhD in Biology from the Munich Institute für Genetik und Mikrobiology and carried out  his scientific research in Munich and at Oxford University.
Today, he is a Director of JenaValve, Novexel, Noxxon and Supersonic Imagine.

 

 
Jacques Mallet

Jacques Mallet

Jacques began his career in 1989 as a Management Consultant with Andersen Consulting Paris. He specialized in the Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals industry.

In 1996 Jacques joined HMR/Aventis as Senior Portfolio Director and Project Management based in Bridgewater (NJ, USA).

In 2000 he became Vice president of the Monitor Group engaged in a wide variety of strategic consulting projects for the Life Sciences industry. Initially based in New York, he then transferred to the Paris office in 2001.

Jacques joined Auriga Partners in January 2006.


He is a specialist in investments for the Life Sciences sector.


Jacques holds an MD from Paris University and also a BS from the American University in Paris.

 
Jean-Michel Petit

Jean-Michel Petit

Jean-Michel Petit is a Senior Investment Manager.  He joined ICSO PRIVATE EQUITYin 2003

Jean-Michele began his career in Research & Development for Sumitomo Rubber Industries.  After a move to Canada he joined  Innovatech du Grand Montreal and later CDP Capital where he was actively involved in capital investment projects for companies in Europe, USA and Canada. 

Jean-Michele Petit is a graduate in chemistry from the Ecole National Supérieure de Chimie de Paris . He also holds an MBA in Buisness Administration from McGill University , Montreal.

 
Alexia Perouse

Alexia Perouse

Alexia Perouse holds an MSc in Neurosciences from the University of Lyon and an MBA from the Institute of Administration of Enterprises (Lyon).

Alexia started her career in 1996 as project leader for Chiron Vaccines. She then worked for Parteurop Développement as project manager for innovative projects and start-ups in the biotechnology sector.

She became an associate for Sofinnova Partners in 1999 and was actively involved in the decision-making and follow-up of investments in companies  involved with biotechnology and medical devices.

Alexia joined Crédit Agricole Private Equity in January 2005 as a partner in the Life Sciences sector.

She is also an investor in Biolipox (inflammatory diseases), Fovea Pharmaceuticals (ophthalmology) and in Mutabilis (infectious diseases).

 
Erich SCHLICK

Erich SCHLICK

Erich Schlick is one of a very few European scientists  to see their innovation become a huge sucess, when, in the 1990s he initiated the development of Humira, the first fully human therapeutic mononucleosis antibody.

Erich Schlick joined Wellington as an Investment Partner for Life Sciences in October 2005. Before this, he served as Director and Head of 3i Healthcare, Germany and as Deputy Sector Head of 3i Healthcare Worldwide. He was responsible for numerous successful investments.

Prior to working in the venture capital industry Erich Schlick spent 15 years with BASF Pharma Knoll AG, including 10 years as an executive board member with worldwide responsibility for preclinical and clinical R&D. He also obtained worldwide patents for five products in  cardiovascular, metabolic and pain releif. In 1993, he established a partnership with Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT), which led to the successful development of Humira.

Erich Schlick studied medicine and specialised in pharmacology. He holds a professorship of immunopharmacology at the University of Heidelberg/Mannheim.
