About us

SuperSonic Imagine is an international company located in the technology pole of Aix en Provence in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France.

In this environment, SuperSonic Imagine benefits from a multicultural human resource pool,  as well as, a  rich infrastructure in  technological  and  clinical perspectives.

History:

SuperSonic Imagine is a young, innovative corporation  which was founded in 2005 by experts in the ultrasound medical imaging field.

SuperSonic Imagine’s technology is derived from a close collaboration with the  Langevin Institute (Laboratoire Ondes et Acoustique) from the Physics and Industrial Chemistry School of Paris, a prestigious school that housed  the works of famous physicists : Curie, Langevin, Joliot-Curie, De Gennes and Charpak.

A Team of Experts:

The founders of SuperSonic Imagine are either industrial experts or research scientists specialized in the fields of ultrasound or medical imaging.

In addition, because of the uniqueness of SuperSonic Imagine’s technology and the favorable geographical situation, engineers from all over the world have joined the team, (France , United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece…).

Patented Technology:

SuperSonic Imagine holds the exclusive rights to 23 patents and submissions, among which, key patents from Mathias Fink’s Laboratoire Ondes et Accoustique CNRS, and Doctor Armen Sarvazyan’s original patents on radiation pressure.

This unique expertise has allowed SuperSonic Imagine to create their revolutionary ultrasound system  based on a flexible software structure which generates an extraordinary image quality thanks to  an ultrafast acquisition rate of up to 20 000 images per second.

Because of this technology and precise time resolution, the movement of elastic waves (shear waves) generated by acoustic radiation force and never before detected with ultrasound, can be visualized.

And now...

In less than 3 years, SuperSonic Imagine has developed and launched  the Aixplorer, an innovative MulliWave Ultrasound System with a dedicated breast application.  Aixplorer's unique and revolutionary technology opens doors to other clinical applications for the future...
